# Fable Words

> Fable Words is an iPhone app that teaches English vocabulary with the mnemonic keyword method: each English word is linked to a similar-sounding word in the learner's native language (a "sound bridge"), the two meet in a one-sentence story, and the word comes back for review with spaced repetition right before it would be forgotten. Today the app serves Turkish speakers; a version for Spanish speakers is in preparation.

Key facts:
- Platform: iPhone (iOS) only. No Android or web app yet.
- Audience: Turkish speakers learning English (available now). Spanish speakers learning English: coming soon, not yet available.
- Example card (Turkish): wash (to wash) → "vaşak" (lynx) → "Vaşak, restoranın bütün bulaşıklarını yıkadı." (The lynx washed all the restaurant's dishes.)
- Method: keyword mnemonic (sound bridge) + short story with an image + retrieval practice (fill in the blank) + spaced repetition, in one short daily session.
- Placement test on first launch; words follow the learner's level from A1 upward. Each word has an image and spoken pronunciation.
- No account needed: no e-mail, phone number or password. Progress is tied to an anonymous ID.
- Pricing: free to download and start; daily new words and the full review plan require a subscription billed by Apple.
- Focus: vocabulary only. It does not teach grammar courses or offer live conversation practice.
